Caribbean American Legislative Forum
The Caribbean American Legislative Forum is an annual event that educates Caribbean-Americans on policy issues that affect the Caribbean American community. Attendees hear from elected officials and are given an opportunity to network with business leaders, policymakers, and advocates. It includes a roundtable as well as short presentations. The event is free and open to the public but pre-registration is required.

Forced child pregnancy & motherhood in Latin America and the Caribbean
The Organization of American States is hosting its 48th general Assembly this week. This panel discussion speaks to human rights issues in the Caribbean including sexual violence, child pregnancy and motherhood.
Within the framework of the 48th General Assembly of the Organization of American States, the Committee of Latin America and the Caribbean for the Defense of Human Rights (CLADEM), Equality Now and International Parent Parenthood Federation/Western Hemisphere Region (IPPF/WHR) invite you to a panel "Sexual violence, forced child pregnancy and motherhood in Latin America and the Caribbean ".
The panel will discuss:
- The issue of forced pregnancy and forced motherhood in Latin America and the Caribbean;
- Legislation and public policies that Governments must adopt and implement in order to address this issue at the national level;
- Current strategies and advocacy by civil society at the national, regional and international levels;
- Successes, challenges and progress of advocacy.
