Green Days By The River
In a remote village by the sea in 1952 Trinidad, a Black ambitious fifteen-year-old, Shell, is charmed by the attractive Indian girl Rosalie, and flattered by the friendship of her father, Gidharee, who mentally accepts him as a future son-in-law.
Despite his father's terminal illness, Shell follows a compassionate Gidharee to work his exotic plantation along the river with his large hunting dogs, in hopes of attracting Rosalie. All the while, Shell falls for a tender, dainty girl from the city, Joan.
The love triangle develops, as Shell leads on the girls, not realizing the trap designed by Gidharee to ensnare his manhood. When Dragon’s Blood, a stimulating liquid is given to Gidharee’s dogs, a strong threat is sent to Shell who must face the consequences of his actions.

HOMELANDS is the culmination of a year-long project in which four acclaimed British urban musicians returned to their cultural roots, connecting with their homelands to create and produce new music. Mercury Prizenominee Terri Walker travelled to Jamaica and double MOBO Award winner Shakka visited Dominica, while grime artists Diztortion and Saskilla headed to Suriname and Senegal, respectively. This groundbreaking documentary produced by Punch Records
follows each artist as they travel alone, only accompanied by a small film crew, to explore the roots of their sound and their cultural identity. The result is a fascinating story of cultural genealogy studded with rocking and rousing musical interludes. Official Selection, 2017 Third Horizon Caribbean Film Festival. DIR/SCR/PROD Jaha Browne, Tara Manandhar. Dominica/Jamaica/Netherlands/Senegal/Suriname/UK, 2017, color, 73 min. In English. NOT RATED
