Carifesta Music and Arts Festival - August 6th
Carifesta Music & Arts Festival will be celebrated on Saturday August 6th from 12pm – 8pm. It is FREE, family friendly, and will be held at Granville Gude Park, 8300 Mulberry St, Laurel, MD 20707. The festival will be attended by some 5,000 patrons, celebrating the Caribbean-American and African heritage of the English, Spanish, French, and Dutch speaking Caribbean and African diaspora.
There will be live performances by aritstes like Serani and Ricardo Drue, a food court, a cultural village and a kids zone.
Jamaica's 60th Independence celebration - August 6th
Jamaica celebrates their 60th Independence Day on August 6th. myjerkpit This Saturday.....The Jerk Pit celebrates Jamaica's 60th Independence on August 6th with live music from Ras Slick and Dutty Bus Crew at 8pm in Oasis Lounge. Free entry before 11pm!
SOCA Wine Music & Food Festival - August 13
On Saturday August 13th from 4pm to 9pm, experience summer with delicious Caribbean foods, wines and soca music. Bring your crew, tents, chairs, blankets, snacks and food! You must be 21+ years to attend.
Viva Cultura Festival - August 13
On August 13th from 10am - 5pm join the ¡Viva Cultura! Festival to celebrate the Latino Community's history and culture through live music, folk dance, art, and international street foods from Central and South America and the Caribbean.
Soka Tribe Seventh Anniversary - August 14
Celebrate Soka Tribe's 7th Anniversary with an unprecedented number of elements of carnival at Lansburg Park from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. There will be dancers, drums, steel pan, music, costumes, giveaways and more...bring a blanket/lawn chair, some snacks, and your loved ones for this amazing afternoon. This event is FREE - RSVP enters you for the chance to win prizes.
Komite Ayiti's Haitian Caribbean Festival, August 14th
The second annual Haitian Caribbean Festival will be on August 14th from 2pm to 8pm. This is a family-friendly event, all ages are welcome. There will belive entertainment, cultural activities, food and beverages available for purchase, A Taste of Haiti Experience* (a plate of Haitian food, Haitian beverages, Prestige, Rhum Punch, and seated with close proximity to the stage), vendors and information tables.
RICKY PLATINUM 14TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY - August 19th, 20th
This two+day event at Karma DC Live Music Venue will celebrate the musical career of Ricky Platinum. Entry is free before midnight and the music will range from afrobeats and dancehall to soca hits.
DC World Reggae Festival - August 20th, 21st
On the 3rd weekend in August 2022, The Robert F. Kennedy Stadium will accommodate scores of reggae and world music lovers at the annual DC World Reggae Festival. The event will feature several international reggae music, world music, soca music and afrobeat music performances.
The Caribbean cultured event aims to promote diversity and unity through music among the relatable diasporas. The event's debut theme: ‘Let there be Peace on Earth’ covers the topics of love, unity, spiritual rejuvenation, and health awareness.
Carnival On The Water - August 21st
Carnival on the Water is going down on Saturday August 21st at 3pm! It is a 2 hour all you can drink Caribbean Fête on the Boomerang Party Yacht featuring DJ Ghost and DJ Majestic. Patrons will be sailing out from the Georgetown Waterfront and there will be an open bar, Caibbean food and an open air rooftop.
The Caribbean Crawl End of Summer Bash - August 27th
