HaiTian ladies weekend - October 7th to 9th

Haitian ladies weekend is back in-person and online on Oct 7th - 9th at 4pm. This year's theme is: Igniting Our Power 2022 in Washington, D.C. This event will have curated a mix of programming: sessions with dynamic speakers and changemakers, cultural celebrations, a beauty/wellness experience lounge, prizes and so much more for Haitian Ladies only.


Autumn reggae festival- October 8th and 9th

The Autumn Reggae Festival at Linganore Winecellars is on October 8th and 9th from 10am to 6pm. Enjoy a relaxing day of listening to live bands, sampling Linganore’s delicious wines, authentic island cuisine, and hand-crafted artisans.


Oyster wars - October 9th

Join Bammy's Chefs for their 5th Annual Oyster Wars on Sunday 9th from 3pm to 6pm for a day co-hosted by Other Half DC, highlighting the best of the sea & the keg. They'll have an incredible line up of Chefs, Restaurants, Breweries and Oyster farms.


Same Difference Cross Cultural Showcase - October 7th to 9th

On Friday October 7th, join Eastyard for their opening night reception and 'Trim ' jam session Homme DC, showcasing the artwork of 14 Trinidadian artists. On Saturday October 8th there will be a free daytime personal branding workshop for creatives, facilitated by Kevon Foderingham. Saturday evening will feature a book reading from Foderingham and DMV based, US author @a.s.draytonbooks, who is of part-Trim heritage, followed by the screening of Sorf Hair, Tabanca and Grace and Saleem from Trinidadian filmmakers @sharipettiii, @lauren mars and @Fjian.hennings_trinidad respectively.


Bene Caribe at cross Cultural Fashion Showcase - October 9th

Bene Caribe will be at our 'Same Difference ' Caribbean Fashion Pop-up on October 9th from 12 noon to 6pm. The Trinbagonian fashion house is known for its breathtaking fabrics and handmade batiks, all inspired by the vibrancy of the Caribbean.


Free tps and citizen drive - October 10th

HALA-DMV in partnership with US Embassy of Haiti will be hosting their first FREE TPS & Citizenship Drive on Monday, October 1 0, 2022 at First Alliance Church, 14500 New Hampshire Avenue,Silver Spring, MD from 1 1 :00 am to 3:00pm.


What's your shoe size - October 15th

Sekou Flex Entertainment presents What's Your Shoe Size Party. Music will be provided by DJ Maiestic, Geovoni, Bina The Booaieman and Whvteboi The DJ.


Str8 soca - October 15

Caribbean culture fest - October 15th and 16th

Come and experience a festival with a unique Afro-Caribbean influence on October 15 - 16, 2022! The Caribbean Culture Festival is an annual event that brings together infamous performing artists of Caribbean descent for a weekend of music, food and fun! This event is for all ages so bring the family along to partake in two-days of activities and live-performances.

DJ FyahOats' Birthday celebration will be at Islands Lounge from 9pm to 2pm. This event will music the hottest music from 7 DJs!


Howard's Homecoming - October 15th to 23rd

This year’s Homecoming celebration will be held entirely in-person the week of October 15-23, a shift from the virtual celebrations of the past two years. The University is excited to welcome Howard University students, alumni, staff and friends to its campus for several key Homecoming events including the Homecoming football game and Bison Pep Rally, the Fashion Show, Greek Life Step Show, Homecoming Day of Service, Lavender Reception, and the iconic Yard Fest Concert.

Red october - October 22nd

Red Asylum Birthday Celebration will be on October 22nd from 2pm to 9pm. There will be Live performances by: Soca Super Star, Faddafoxx and more!


Trigga's annual Libra and Virgo dmv celebration - october 22nd

Join DJ Trigga's annual dancehall birthday celebration: Icons love forever edition. Music will be provided by the DMV's hottest DJs and food by Boasy Kitchen will be available.


Jerk and Twerk Howard homecoming tailgate - October 22nd

Nick's Seasonings will host a Howard Homecoming after-party feauturing his infamous food: Oxtails, Jerk Chicken and Jerk BBQ chicken. Dance away the night with your favorite Hip Hop, Dancehall, Beyonce andAfro Beats tubes. This lime is only a 10 minute walk from the Howard tailgate!


Mugfest DMV 2022 : Howard Homecoming Edition - October 22nd

Join DJs Young Chow, Fyah Oats and Geovani on Saturday, October 22, 2022 for MugFest DMV. The event will be from 5pm to 10pm and you will get a free mug on entry! Food and hookahs will be available.


Breast cancer awareness ride - October 23rd

DMVCR is hosting its 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Ride on Sunday 2nd October, 2022 to bring awareness to breast cancer that has affected our family, friends and community. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts. A local non-profit Cancer Support organization where all programs and servies are free.


Jamaica fest - October 29th

On October 29th the Embassy of Jamaica will continue its Jamaica 60 celebrations with a cultural showcase at the Organization of American States. It will be a cultural extravaganza, featuring Kamaican art, music, fashion, food and drink. In true Jamaican style, admission will be "buy out the bar!" with part proceeds going to the Jamaica Association for the Deaf.


Halloween costume party - October 28th

Join DJ Bimshire at the Famous Lounge on Friday October 28th from 10pm to 3an for an epic Halloween costume party!


International Breast Cancer Awareness Fest - October 29th

The first International Breast Cancer Awareness Fest is coming to the DMV area this year with intentions of serving the Caribbean, African, and Hispanic communities. The purpose of this health and wellness project is to support the women of the international diaspora within the DMV area. This event is in partnership with African Women’s Cancer Awareness (AWCA) embracing the mission of celebrating life, while continuing the fight against this worldwide disease together. Onsite screening, consultation, Covid testing, vaccinations, and booster shots will be provided. You will also enjoy live musical entertainment, international foods, art, and fellowship.
